Pa i Fotocòpies: an unlikely combination to celebrate a year of research

Writer: Louise Ward MorrisLouise Ward Morris

This January, I had the pleasure of taking part in Pa i Fotocòpies at Fabra i Coats, Barcelona, with the 2024 Artists in Residence. Using the quick-fire structure of Pecha Kucha presentations, we shared and celebrated our research projects with guests in Fabra i Coats' Sala Polivante. The event was accompanied by a limited edition of handmade fanzines documenting the work of each artists which guests were able to put together and take home.

What a beautiful and intriguing event it was! ....With live poetry, sewing performances, sound art, video, textiles and, of course, conversation. A fantastic way to conclude our research terms at Fabra i Coats.

The 16 participating artists were Marc Anglès, Joana Capella, Julio César Palacio, Tatiana Donoso, Albert Gironès, Salva G. Ojeda, Helena Laguna Bastante, Biel Llinàs, Oscar Moya Villanueva, Núria Nia, Chuso Ordi, Marta Pareja Cobos, Lourdes Peñaranda, Lorena Ruiz Pellicero, Lucía Scarselletta y Louise Ward Morris.

More information about the event is available at Fabra i Coats' website here. Thank you to Lorena Ruiz Pellicero for the graphics and Helena Laguna Bastante, Chuso Ordi, Albert Gironès and Tatiana Donoso for the photographs.
