The collective exhibition by sculpture group TallerBDN, titled Imaging Futures (Imaginant Futurs), opens for the MANIFESTA15 Focus Week in Badalona!

Between the 29 October to 3 November, my latest sculptures using LCD screen technology will be exhibited as part of the Manifesta15 Focus Week in Badalona. The show is a collective exhibition titled Imaginant Futurs that features artworks produced at the TallerBDN workshop and considers the future of art making from perspectives of technology as well as craftmanship.
My artworks on show, Heliophilia and Untitled (5CB), address both technology and craftmanship by converging energy and data in space using screen technology to create futuristic sculptures. In particular, I undertook a would-be mechanised fabrication process to make hundreds of liquid crystal pixels by hand. In this way, my artworks consider the elaborated manufacturing processes and excessive labour required to produce technological devices that will eventually be discarded. I believe such manual actions disrupt the capitalistic mystique of perfection surrounding the billion-dollar consumer electronics market.

Held on the 29th November, the opening celebration included three performances in Plaça de Pompeu Fabra followed by the opening of the Imaging Futures exhibition. The exhibition features artworks produced at the workshop and is open to visitors from the 29 October to the 3 November from 10:00 - 14:00 and 16:30 to 20:00.
Exhibition address: Plaça de Pompeu Fabra, 08912 Badalona
