Check out the first photographs of my solo exhibition, Heliophilia, at RARO Onsite Projects in Barcelona!
Comprising video and sculptural works, Heliophilia investigates our relationship with the screen from distinct perspectives, including manufacturing and consumption, the screen's affinity with the body and its fundamental constituent: the pixel.
The show hypothesises that the screen is the modern-day reworking of an eternity of humanity's communication through light and that our desire for the screen is rooted in our desire for the sun.
Uniquely, Heliophilia features new artworks made using handmade liquid crystal pixels that I created during my residency at Fabra i Coats and funded by Arts Council England.
