Video and Photographic Series

 

A photographic series studying the development of AI violence recognition surveillance systems and the origins of their description of violence. The series compares re-presented stills from a ‘violent’ video used in the software’s development with a studio re-staging. The images focus on unique moments from both events that comply or contradict the label of ‘violent’, allowing the viewer to consider if the actions are descriptive of their label.

Labelled Violent was produced for a workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) with the Creative Computing Institute at Camberwell College of Art, London.
